Module 2: Understanding the range of SEND and their impact on children and young people accessing wraparound care

Inclusion in wraparound provision

Welcome to the second part of this course where we will be continuing to look at inclusion for children and young people with disabilities in wraparound provision.

In Module 1 we talked about what inclusion means, and our experience of feeling excluded or included. This helped us to think about what barriers children with disabilities may face when they access wraparound care.

During the second part of the course we are going to look at:

  • What different types of additional needs might we come across?
  • Relating the needs of children and young people with disabilities to the wraparound environment
  • Understanding legal and moral responsibilities, including reasonable adjustments
  • What do we mean when we say SEND / children with disabilities?
